Chelsea's Gary Cahill would put the Blues up early with a 17th minute screamer and Roberto Di Matteo's side took a promising 1-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Just seconds into the second half, William Gallas would equalize for the home squad before Jermain Defoe put Spurs ahead 2-1 with a brilliant finish inside the box past Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech. After a few minutes of scoreless football, Chelsea's Juan Mata would take over for the visiting Blues.
Mata scored in the 66th and 69th minute to bring Chelsea level, and then put them ahead 3-2. Daniel Sturridge would add a late goal to clinch the result for Di Matteo's club. The 4-2 result was Chelsea's fourth consecutive win in Premier League play and signaled the end of a four-match EPL winning streak for Tottenham.
